News: Rimington Caravan Park

Easter 2015

Another good one, fantastic weather and a busy caravan park created a great atmosphere, the club had a hectic weekend with the traditional games night on Friday, Stephen Butterfield, a local lad from Burnley who is a superb singer and entertainer had the club rocking on Saturday night, followed by the annual Darts competition on Sunday afternoon- which this year was won by the very popular park owner ably assisted by his partner Nigel (darts partner that is... as opposed to any other type of partner!)

The finale of the weekend- on Sunday evening- was the ever-popular and entertaining Rimington bingo, organised by Bill and Sandra, followed by Big Bad Bob's Big Bad Quiz- won yet again by the team led by Steve "Mr Mastermind" Waddicar. Well done and a big thanks to Bob for setting and delivering the quiz so professionally. Lastly, the now infamous "play your cards right" was hosted so very well by Dave- the club manager. It really is fantastic entertainment and eventually, after much merriment (especially with John "Stan" Hartley), the £100 top prize was won by Derek Sorah.

Sandra presents the darts competition trophy 2015 to David Leeming and Nigel Perry.

Bank holiday weekend

The lovely weather combined with a variety of entertainment in the club, resulted in a great bank holiday at Rimington. Saturday night saw Garry Riley visit Rimington for the 1st time and as can be seen from the pictures a packed club really enjoyed his humour and singing, a fun night had by all! Sunday evening was a combination of the famous Rimington bingo and another brain busting hour of Big Bobs Quiz, a great way to end the weekend in the club and a genuine thank you to all who contributed in any way.

Easter 2014

That was a busy Easter! The sunny weather in the days before the holiday coupled with the fact that we only have 2 caravans for sale on the 8 month area, meant many owners enjoyed their Easter at Rimington.

Saturday night saw (or heard) karaoke in the club, enough said! However everyone enjoyed the variety of singing styles and thanks to Tony and Carol for the equipment and organisation which made the night a success.

Easter Sunday afternoon is the date for the Rimington Caravan Park darts competition when 16 pairs of players set off on their journey to victory, however only one pair can win and this year's champions are Keith and Dot with runners up being Nigel and Ivan, a great afternoon enjoyed by all!

Sunday night saw the famous Rimington bingo being played and thanks to Bill and Sandra for delivering the bank holiday bingo, this was followed by Big Bad Bob's Big Bad Quiz, which was in fact very good! A big thanks to Bob for writing and presenting the quiz, a great finale to a great bank holiday and a big thank you to everyone on the park for your help in creating a relaxed atmosphere.

David Leeming congratulates Ivan as Nigel looks on anticipating a firm handshake!

Winners of the darts competition- Keith and Dot

Spring 2014

Welcome to another season at Rimington after what must be one of the mildest winters on record!! you could count the number of frosty nights on one hand, quite amazing after the cold of the past 3 years, lets hope it hasn't a sting in its tail and we have a lovely dry spring! When you see the photos of the flooding and wind damage that some parts of the country have endured I think we have been very fortunate. It has been a busy start to the year with 4 completed static caravan sales and 2 subject to completion which has resulted in only 5 caravans for sale on the 8.5 month area and 3 on the 12 month area, the lowest number for many years plus there is quite a demand from people wanting to relocate to Rimington. Subject to the weather forecast we plan to turn on the water the week commencing 10th of March and so begins our 18th season at Rimington !!
